Is it possible to change the design layout at any stage?
Changes can be made to the design until the manufacture date. Extra costs might arise, depending on how advanced you project is at the time.
Can my warehouse staff still work whilst you are installing the mezzanine?
Special safety measures and procedures may have to be put into place. We will work closely with your staff to maintain a safe working environment.
We will provide you with a method statement and a risk assessment in advance. The health and safety of everyone on site is of paramount importance, so we will discuss what needs to be done to address any risks identified.
Do I need to do any preparation prior to installation?
Yes.
You will need to provide:
- Clear access to the area where the mezzanine floor is to be built
- Utilities and services
Can I install the mezzanine floor myself?
Yes, but we would recommend you use our trained professional installation team as this will reduce the interruption to your business, leaving you to run your day to day business.
Do you provide staircases, handrailings and other items we may need?
Yes. Allen Mezzanines will provide everything you need to complete your installation.
This can include staircases, pallet gates, handrailing, goods lifts, conveyor systems, column guards, fire protection, lighting, smoke detection, and many other specialist products and services needed to successfully complete your project.
What are the regulations for installing a mezzanine floor?
Each mezzanine structure design must meet the current Building Regulation Guidelines and British Standards. Planning permission might be needed for floors above 200m2.
We will submit an application to your Local Authority on your behalf, along with full structural calculations and design drawings, for approval.
How long will the process take to get my mezzanine floor installed?
Most projects will be completed in three to five weeks, depending on their size and complexity. A typical process will be:
- Week 1 – attend site for detailed survey
- Week 2 – produce mezzanine design drawings
- Week 3 – agree the general arrangement drawings with our client
- Week 4 – manufacture the structural steel work
- Week 5 – install the mezzanine floor.
Is there a minimum or maximum size of mezzanine floor I can have?
No. Allen Mezzanines will design a suitable mezzanine floor based on your personal requirements.
This could be a single or multi-tiered structure dependent upon any height restrictions.
How much does a mezzanine floor cost?
Our pricing is based on current best practices within the industry. Each mezzanine floor will be different in size, height and specification, so costs will vary. Use our Fast Quote page for an initial quote and then we can finalise your price upon application.
